KARACHI: The first Parents’ Day of the Cadet C
ollege of Ormara was held wh
ere Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri wa
s the chief guest.
Various performances by the cadets from the traditional military band added colour to the ceremony and received a standing ovation from the audience. Addressing the ceremony, the chief minister congratulated the principal and the Pakistan Navy for establishing a Cadet C
ollege at Ormara.
He highlighted that besides its commitment of safeguarding the sea frontier of the motherland, the navy has always remained pro-active in welfare oriented projects. He added that, by providing hospitals and medi
cal facilities in Balochistan to providing quality education through a network of schools and c
olleges stretching along the coastal belt of Makran, PN has dedicated itself for the service of the countrymen.
He further highlighted that in the wake of CPEC the importance of the c
ollege in this area has increased manifolds and he can foresee the c
ollege converting into a centre of educational excellence on a national level, and credit goes to the parents for reposing confi
dence in CCO and trusting them to shape the future of their children.
Earlier in his address, Principal Masood Ul Hasan thanked the chief minister and the parents for coming the long way and gracing the occasion. He highlighted that the c
ollege produced 100% result in the board exams held under the Federal Board and the c
ollege has also earned laurels in various extra and co-curricular activities. The event was followed by cadets performing PT, gymnastic, martial arts, rifle drills and a science exhibition. The hallmark of the event wa
s the unique way of welcoming the guests through traditional naval semaphore flag signaling. The event was attended by a large number of government officials, service and personnel parents.
